Every Hero Has A Story

What is Summer Reading?

The Summer Reading program provides fun, family-friendly entertainment for children and teens 0-17 years old, while providing the following benefits:

Robot and Boy
  • Motivates children and teens to read.
  • Develops positive attitudes about reading and books.
  • Encourages regular use of the Library.
  • Attracts new users to the Library.
  • Offers experiences through which children and teens can learn to work cooperatively.

How It Works

1. Sign up and pick up your packet at the library. (All ages 0-17!)
2. Read or listen to books every day.
3. Read and report at least 800 minutes by August 31 to earn a paperback book.
4. Each finished reading log enters you into a special prize drawing. (Prizes to be announced).
5. Complete any of the Summer Reading Challenges for an extra ticket(s) in the prize drawing.
