Every Hero Has A Story

What is Summer Reading?

The Summer Reading program provides fun, family-friendly entertainment for children and teens 0-17 years old, while providing the following benefits:

Robot and Boy
  • Motivates children and teens to read.
  • Develops positive attitudes about reading and books.
  • Encourages regular use of the Library.
  • Attracts new users to the Library.
  • Offers experiences through which children and teens can learn to work cooperatively.

How It Works

1. Sign up and pick up your packet at the library. (Library card is not required to participate.)
2. Try to read or listen to books every day.
3. Color in your reading log for every 20 minutes you read.
4. Read and report at least 800 minutes by August 29th to earn a paperback book.
5. Each finished reading log and/or BINGO board enters you into a special prize drawing for a bike. Bike drawing will be held July 31st at 11am.
